Let’s just recap the past few days.

An ABC News report said that Florida Senator Marco Rubio, thought to be a major rising star in the Republican Party, was not being vetted by Mitt Romney’s campaign team.  The next day, at a campaign stop in Michigan, Romney refuted the rumors and stated that Rubio was in fact in the vetting process.

Well, Rubio went on Fox News last night (go figure) and when interviewed by On The Record with Greta van Susteren, Rubio tried played off the sideshow by stating, “I think I can make a bigger difference as a Senator”.

While it is standard protocol for speculative VP candidates to play off the rumors with vague statements such as that, Rubio seems poor at the whole “play it off” process.  If these statements are true, it might lead to more questions that Mitt Romney doesn’t want to answer on his barnstormin’ bus tour.
