When you advise women who don’t want to be probed to “just close your eyes”, cut education and spar over Marcellus Shale; you are going to be in for a rough ride.
Republican Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett is guilty of all three of those counts and according to a Quinnipiac University Poll, he is one of the least popular Governors in the nation with an approval rating of just 36%.
The former Attorney General of Pennsylvania has an approval rating of 32% with women and can only bring in 40% of males showing his legacy (as of now) to be consistent in universal distaste.
Now what does this mean going forward? Corbett hasn’t appeared to be one to cave in on his views but in a state with a blue tint such as Pennsylvania, he might have to start scrambling come the 2014 mid-term elections. Along with Wisconsin, Ohio & Florida, I expect Democrats to target this seat hard and I wouldn’t be shocked to see a full-court press by Dems to recruit former Congressman Joe Sestak for the nomination.
Corbett still has time to right the ship but if his record is any indication, his ship might be sinking quick.
One could advise him that he should just, “close his eyes”
